World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item upgrader's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial possibility that the item upgrade will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade item can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.

In the endgame you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading - one-time offer, system lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When an individual player improves the equipment they have the original item will be replaced with a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Every each time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
