World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instancefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item upgrade will drop during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure what will be improved after an update.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item upgrader mod is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player improves a piece of equipment it is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state, which requires the player to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs listed above.
