5 Things That Everyone Is Misinformed About Concerning Item Upgrades
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item level upgrade's main stat and give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for build casters.
Armour
Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, you can enhance its defense capabilities in different ways.
The basic idea of armour is to protect the person or animal from harm or injury, either from direct physical attack or from an array of dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, most armour was made of fabric or leather, but metal protections were also employed, especially for military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
There are a variety of ways to upgrade armour however the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, and requiring a higher cost in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades which means that once they've been applied they cannot be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. You should only apply highest-level upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have all the components required to complete them.
When it comes to acquiring the necessary upgrade components, you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule such as merchants, shrines as well as enemies. These are usually marked by a blue triangle or a gold circle and are available in large numbers as you progress. While they may appear randomly, there is the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade components will result in a quest that will reward players with more.
It's also worth noting that although the level of protection provided by each upgrade differs, it is the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that can protect you from all kinds of attacks, except magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns truly unique, you can upgrade them with a variety upgrades. These upgrades can increase the damage or alter the stats of the weapon to match your particular build. They also allow new attachments, such as unique enchantments and different types of ammunition, as well as aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll require an upgrade component ready as well as the item upgrading itself. The weapon must be at a minimum of a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only take one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from the enemy or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are made up of ingredients that can be put into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to grant an attribute bonus or additional effect when they are in use. The equipment must be at a certain level before it can accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they can be used to enhance the stats of the base weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. They can be obtained from enemies who drop them in the open, bought from certain vendors or found from combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade item your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, then items that you won't need to replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade item your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands in case you intend to play a melee build. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others depending on your playstyle. Armour is no different, with some reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item. If an upgrade project has been cancelled, no more upgrades will be planned for the item. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, however they may provide other benefits.
A magical item upgrader Mod is any item with special properties or effects. These items are mostly weapons, but they can also be shields, armors or cloaks as well as potions. They can also be scrolls, rings or other items. Some of these items are sentient.
The majority of magic items can be upgraded to be equipped with additional capabilities. This makes them more useful for a player, or it can aid them in overcoming an especially difficult challenge. A weapon that contains an ingredient that is unique could offer, for instance, an extra level of damage to a particular type of enemy. This is particularly useful for those who have reached the level where they are likely to face one kind of monster over and over again in the dungeons.
A ring infused with magic may grant immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character is given a second rest. This is particularly beneficial for combatants who are melee or anyone looking to avoid purchasing a shield.
Certain objects with enchanted properties have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is a great benefit for characters that have trouble maintaining their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create an entirely new one. These items are particularly useful for characters that were forced to leave their home or located in an area that they might not be welcomed. A magical item could provide them with an invisibility effect, or even make them invisible to all other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which doesn't fall under the categories of Clothing or Armor and have a variety of capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor they are not a single utility item that can conflict with another. Most utility items have an effect that the player can activate when using them, but some also have additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses a button or activates the ability.
Generally, the most common type of utilitarian item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while they move, and the Jetpack, which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can instantly produce several useful items, while others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the items they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
The majority of utility items provide the player with a navigational advantage or increase a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, created by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items that are useful can be utilized by players to increase Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utility item at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot becomes available by equipping certain types of armor or completing engineering research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows players to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
