GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-green power electric mobility scooter heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and it can be customized to suit a wide range of applications. The design of the platform is based on a simple paper that allows for optimum placement of the battery pack and a lower center-of-gravity. This leads to better payload/range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery and catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4' one interior wall structure, and higher insulation than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a top payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero-emission goods and passenger transportation.

We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does a great job of suppressing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.

The EV9 has a great range and can be fully recharged in about three hours at home or using any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two operating modes: eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode is a preference for torque and cruise control, while the sport mode increases speed and handling. Both modes are green power mobility scooters any good fun to drive, and offer an experience unlike any other for those who haven't been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool, or paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 green power electric mobility scooter vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet the demand. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested in Altoona and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA compliant. This means they will be eligible for federal transit assistance grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its demonstration tour the coming months. We will provide more information on this innovative electric vehicle.
