With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot vacuums with mop that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite loud, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
