The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we tested. It may be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including getting rid of any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning the area where it started. The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot via the app or via voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot vacuum black friday to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum the area.
